LAPALUX

Stuart Howard, alias Lapalux, is a young and talented producer. Even before his last album came out, this guy has made magic, offering us beautiful keyboard sounds, redesigned voices and a catchy beat.

His first step into the electronic world was back in 2010, remixing the likes of Bonobo, Fink and Lianne La Havas. In 2011, his first album Nostalchic was unveiled to the public, and it was a revelation. He creates an exciting yet quiet atmosphere thanks to his experimental beatmaking and crystalline notes. His productions open up an enlarged vision of electronic music.

He is back in the spotlight with his new album Lustmore, and is on tour with the master that is Flying Lotus. The pair are playing together this Friday at the O2 Academy Brixton, it’s a night not to be missed! His new album is full of futurist sounds that transport you into his hypnotic world. He's a talented producer who promises fresh ideas and more than delivers with his creations. This is the beginning of a long and beautiful career for this young pioneer. Keep listening because you're going to be hearing a lot of Lapalux.

HOWLING

After exploding onto the scene with an accidental hit 'Howling', the unexpected duo of Australian singer/producer/cult folk artist Ry X (of The Acid) and Berlin’s 4/4 innovator Frank Wiedemann (of Âme and Innervisions), who took adopted the moniker of their first song, are now on the heels of an equally surprising debut album, Sacred Ground. Set for release on 4th May 2015 as a collaboration between MODESELEKTOR’s Monkeytown Records and Ninja Tune imprint Counter Records, Howling’s lush LP unfolds as subtly and instinctively as their artistic process.

Often recorded on the fly between rehearsals and while on the road for their European tour, their acoustic/electronic compositions incorporate delicate instrumentation, warm strings and organs, driving analogue sounds, gentle field recordings, and of course Ry X’s unmistakable voice. Although there are distinct traces of both artists present throughout all ten tracks, as a duo they’ve created a sound that veers away from anything expected. 'Signs' - the album’s first single – is a hypnotic capturing of their unique new sound, with Ry’s ethereal vocals floating through a divine minimalistic landscape.

Speaking of the video for 'Stole The Night', which he directed with Dugan O'Neal, Ry X said "Dugan and I always set out to capture the emotional essence of imagery in connection to music. In this ‘Stole the Night’ video we wanted to hold an open conversation about a few things...it is the emotion of the struggle of what frees us, and what keeps us grounded. Of how relationship can serve and hinder. Of how our journey is not only of the realm in which we spend most of our time... in shopping malls and work places, but that also of nature, and even more so, that of the heart and mind
